April 14th
Happy Tuesday! This week we were supposed to have our Learning Fair on Thursday night, so I want to see how you are doing on your Science Experiment. So,
Today's question... How is it going on your Science Experiment? Have you picked one yet? Have you done it yet? Have you created a poster for it? I would like to be able to make a slideshow to show all of your hard work sometime this week. Can you finish your experiment by Friday? You can upload pictures or videos to your portfolio on Dojo. Don't want to do a poster? Make a video where you tell me about your experiment (don't forget all the same details you would have put on a poster). I'm so excited to see what you've come up with! I have shared an experiment I did called "Walking Water" in our class story on Dojo, make sure to check it out! As we did before, please look at the survey each day and mark off what you complete. For Math, do GoMath Lesson 10.6-Display Data, pages 489-492. Use what you've learned so far about graphs to complete your work. Today is our fun "Dress up" Zoom meeting. Dress in something fun or silly. Follow these rules during our meeting so everyone can have fun. 1. Don't walk around with your device. 2. Take turns talking, try not to interrupt others. 3. Wear appropriate clothing and use appropriate and positive language. 4. Stay on topic, don't have side conversations. I will mute your audio or stop your video if you are doing anything I deem inappropriate. Parents are always welcome to join. I will have 2 meeting times again, 11:15-11:30 am and 6:30-7pm. The links are in Dojo messages for safety reasons. Let me know if you have any trouble accessing them. Tuesdays are usually our Art day with Mrs. Cherry. She has given me some NEW ideas for Art and Music that I am sharing here for you. All of the activities should be approved by parents before beginning! You can also work on any unfinished art you have in your Unfinished Work Folder or make a Lorax to go with your writing this week!

Complete to do list activities, new ones assigned each day. Make sure you look at the story, then go back to the assignment and click "SUBMIT".
MATH: Assigned GoMath lesson. Also, do the number of the day page in your Morning Workbook.
Dojo: Answer daily question from Mrs. Cobabe
Spelling City: Do one game for spelling words, and one game for high frequency words.
Lexia: Students should still do Lexia 10 minutes a day, or as needed to meet their weekly goal. (Goal information sent out with the passwords email)
Writing: This week we are writing a letter to Mother Nature to tell her how we will take care fo her. Students should come up with 3 ways to help protect the Earth that they can do. Earth Day is next week and I would like them to be able to do some or all of their ideas. I have traditionally read "The Lorax" during the week before we start writing, so I'm including a link to it here.

I'm also including a picture of how we typically display these letters. Please feel free to let students make their own Lorax to top their letter for Art today.
Writing will need to be submitted by photo through Dojo or email. The files needed to plan and write are linked below, but they are also in the Writing Skills Workbook. U6W1 is due April 19th.
