April 1st
Happy April Fool's Day! I really hope there are only nice tricks (or NO tricks!) at your house! I'm excited to see you on Zoom today! Remember, it is show and tell, so you can show an animal or other object. We will need to take turns so everyone can see and hear on the call.
The morning Zoom will be at 11:15-11:45 am. https://zoom.us/j/392426303 The evening Zoom will be at 6:30-7:00 pm. https://zoom.us/j/831152459 Today's question... What is the best, worst, or funniest trick that has ever been played on you? The best trick that was ever played on me was when my husband proposed to me. I didn't know he had spoken to my parents to ask permission, so I though I was just going to a sunrise breakfast picnic date. He had a bear with a card that asked "Will you marry me?" I was so surprised I didn't answer him at first, then when he asked me again, I said, "I guess I'll have to say 'No' to the bear so I can say 'Yes' to you!" I was also surprised because he didn't have a ring, so I got to pick out my ring, and we picked matching wedding bands at the same time too! Best Trick Ever!!! I have assigned videos on phonics for some students through the Wonders website. You will need to copy the web address provided and paste it into the internet browser address bar, preferably into a new tab so you can go right back to the assignment and click "Submit" once finished. Please let me know if you are having trouble viewing them. These videos are of Heggerty lessons that students had with me before the closure. These videos have been done by another teacher, but have the same content and movements I use. Please check in with me if you are struggling with anything! For Math today, please watch this short introductory video that helps with the first page of lesson 10.3-Picture Graphs (pages 477-479). https://www.loom.com/share/d3492d2c472c4065a0a579cb328674d6 On Wednesdays we usually have Computers with Mrs. Thueson. Please visit the Computers class website for the activities she has planned for 2nd grade this week. https://sites.google.com/a/alpinedistrict.org/cedarvalleycomputers/home/grade-2 We also usually have PE with Mrs. Shanks.
