April 28th
Yesterday, I forgot to post the Spelling City activities for this week...SORRY! They are up now, don't worry about "making up" the ones from yesterday.
Today, I've been asked to share a few things with you... 1. Talent Show! We are going forward with our talent show, and in case you haven't seen the information Mrs. Shanks posted yet... 2. We have a virtual art show happening too! If you would like to showcase anything you have done since we've been doing online learning, please send it to me or Mrs. Cherry with a brief description of what it is and how you made it. You can see the art other students have made by visiting https://sites.google.com/d/1n9sN_Myu3G8SK1eK1o322pxdY0dZQNCb/p/1oRm3bD2WI54Wqi0u9ObvL7yWFbLGmXXe/edit 3. Next Monday, I will be at the school at 11am-noon if you would like to pick up your Art calendar. If you can't make it during that time, I will be bringing them by your home later in the day. 4. Please turn in your Take Home Reading Books to the bin in front of the school. You can turn in Library Books too if you are done with them. 5. If you have any pictures of online learning, Whitney Thomas is trying to gather photos for our Yearbook. Please email them to her at [email protected] Now that all that is done...here's Today's question... What is one thing you still want to get better at this year? We have had the opportunity to learn some new things during this weird time, but I want to know what you still want to learn or improve in. I have been sewing more since we started online learning, and I really want to learn how to maintain and fix the sewing machines I use. I just inherited 2 machines from my mom and grandma, and although I know how to use them, I don't know what to do if anything goes wrong with them. It's something that could save me time and money to learn how to fix and maintain my own sewing machines, and possibly help others in my neighborhood do the same as well. For Math, do the iReady Blue lesson "Practice: Identify Two, Three, or Four Equal Parts", or work on one of the lessons in your GoMath book listed on "Our Week at a Glance".
For Art today, please finish all of your unfinished art: Hearts, Squares, and your 2021 assignment from last week. You will need all of these completed so you can put them in your calendar next week! Also, you can check out the ideas for art and music that Mrs. Cherry suggested below. All of the activities should be approved by parents before beginning!

Today's Assignments:
1. Work toward Lexia goal (This is a priority! It is geared toward your specific needs!)
2. Work on Green iReady lessons (This is a priority! It is geared toward your specific needs!)
3. Answer the question of the day (This is a priority! It is really important to stay emotionally and socially connected with everyone.)
4. Have FUN!!! (This is a priority! Students need to feel safe and loved during this time of crisis and instability.)
5. iReady BLUE LESSON-Practice: Identify Two, Three, or Four Equal Parts. This is available all week, so if it's easier, you can do the GoMath lessons first. Look at the "Our Week at a Glance" tab (at the top of this page) on this site to find the pages for the GoMath lessons.
6. Read for 20 minutes-Wonders, Epic or Sora, etc. (This is important for making sure students are as ready as they can be for 3rd grade.)
7. Do Writing Skills Workbook, Unit 6.3 day 2. Final draft of Writing will not be accepted before Wednesday. You need to read the stories first to get the ideas you need for your writing.
8. FINISH ALL ART!!! (this is important so you can finish your Art calendar before Mother's Day!)
9. Do 1 spelling game and 1 high frequency word (HFW) game on Spelling City. (These are less important, but help build the phonics skills students need to be fluent readers.)
10. Do Morning Workbook page 155. Number of the day is 155! (This is less important, but offers a good review to keep everything we've learned this year fresh.)
