April 16th
I found this fun Digital Breakout game yesterday. It's a great review of money, and could be fun for the whole family! There are some slightly tougher questions, so it is good to do with an adult or older sibling. It's not timed, so it can be a little more relaxed.
https://platform.breakoutedu.com/game/play/a-day-at-the-park-127522-QXOCVRKA7E Please check in with me if you are struggling with anything! Later in this post, I have ranked the tasks I'm asking you to do each day by order of importance, please check them out. I only received 4 out of 15 students' Math tests from yesterday, so finish those and make sure to send me pictures. So far, it looks like everyone has understood graphs really well, so we are probably ready to move on to GEOMETRY!!! For Math today, you need to do the Chapter 11 introduction on pages 497-504. Also, I haven't heard back much about how I can help or what students want to do to make the rest of the year more fun. Here's the list of ideas I had, but I am welcoming all ideas, especially from you, because you know what your family needs right now. 1. Digital Breakout links (maybe on a tab on this website?) 2. Silly face competition (submit a photo, class votes) 3. Daily times to check in with me, some days morning, others evening (maybe specific days to talk about math, writing, etc. too) 4. Virtual Dance Festival-everyone learns a dance (probably from GoNoodle) and records themselves doing it, or at least a part of it. 5. Virtual Learning Fair-videos and photos of our science experiments 6. Read-aloud videos once a week, live 7. One-on-one video conferences to address your specific needs 8. Read aloud times with aides Ok, get ready for some giggles! It's time for Today's question... Do you have a nickname? What is it? Who gave it to you and why? When I was 2, I broke both bones in my right lower leg (tibia and fibula). We didn't have the nice, lightweight, fiberglass casts back then, I had a thick and heavy plaster cast. Because I was so small, it was really hard to get around, so I would scoot around on my bottom. My mom told me I wore holes in my pants like crazy! My oldest brother Rusty gave me the name "Scooter-buns". Every now and then, one of my siblings will still call me "Scooter-buns" for a laugh.🤣 |
On Thursdays we usually have Library with Mrs. Montgomery. She has a read aloud that she thought you'd like...watch it here.

From Mrs. Bellitti-
Once upon a certain time there was an awesome school
With kids and teachers, lots of folks, who all were really cool
There was a special feeling there, you felt it every day
Each person, whether old or young, gave their best in every way
They learned together, played together, knew each other well
And made memories they will not forget, only time will tell
One year they divided into houses, sorted one by one
To better learn important things when all is said and done
Respect and Kindness were two traits they learned to demonstrate
They learned more about being Responsible, like never being late
And though we had one more house trait, that we were going to learn
In March online schooling began at home, giving us all a turn
To show that we can stick this out, like our last trait: Persevere
We won't give up, we won't give in, that message is so clear
For Wranglers are made to be in charge and always take great care
Of what has been asked of them, whether alone or in a pair
Cedar Valley Students, we are so proud of you
And grateful to your parents, for all the things they do
We only want what's best for you and we'll work tirelessly
To make this school year the best we can as we make history.

Lastly, here is one from me! I LOVE YOU ALL!
My dearest 2nd grade friends,
I am so sad that this year ends
without all the fun things we would normally do
and without a chance to give one last hug to you.
I know you are sad, and that's ok.
Just remember to keep doing your best everyday.
Though right now we may be apart,
just remember that your are forever in my heart!
Keep working and trying your best, and I will too!
3rd grade is still waiting for you!
You still need to know all the things you've learned,
and we will see each other again when school is returned.
Remember, I love you, and always will!
Seeing you again will be such a thrill!
Just keep doing your part to learn everyday,
and we will be together again someday!
Cedar Valley loves you, the whole staff misses you too!
Take care of yourself and your family members too.
Being apart will not last forever,
and it will be so sweet when, at last, we're together!
Love, Mrs. Cobabe
