March 24th
It was so fun to see most of you yesterday! I am so glad we did, because it made me able to accept the new timeline we were given. We will now be online through May 1st. I am definitely sad to not be with you, but I am happy that we are doing what we need to stay healthy! I will be changing some things up here in the next few days...offering times to chat face-to-face via Google Meet or Zoom, offering some different activities, and giving you new ways to practice everything we need to still learn in 2nd grade. I will give instructions on how to do each new thing, and will list what times I will be available for conferencing. I just want to make sure to provide variety and guidance, as well as keep our personal connections!
Please take a minute to fill out the new survey. I just want to make sure that I am providing the right amount and type of resources for you in the most convenient format. Office hours this week will be daily between 9-11am and 6-7pm. I will be readily available at those times. If you need anything, I am always available! I may not get back to you immediately, but I want to try and be as prompt as possible answering your questions addressing your needs. If you are experiencing technical problems that prevent you from being able to complete the online assignments, try to read and practice math facts, and let me know! Thanks! We are hoping to start having some "bedtime stories" read by the staff at Cedar Valley starting this week. Look for them on Dojo and our Facebook page! I have decided to link mine here...It is "We Are In A Book" by Mo Willems! I hope you like it! https://www.loom.com/share/6e694d8063f8493e966ce18fcf1fcdf3 Today's question... What is one job you hope you never have, and one job you really want? One job I would NEVER want is cat groomer...I'm allergic to them, and they really don't like being washed, dried, and having their toenails clipped...YIKES! Also, one job I would really want is an astronaut. I would love to travel to space and be able to see Earth from afar and experience no gravity. PARENTS ONLY: Since school is not resuming until May, I would like to know if you want the chance to get library books, workbooks(I mainly want students to have the tools they are accustomed to for writing and daily math review), water bottles, and other personal items from the school? I can bag everything up and label it, and schedule a pick up time that's convenient for you. Feel free to email your response or message me on Dojo. Let me know yes or no; and if yes, then what times are convenient for you to do a pick up. Thanks for your help and support during these crazy times! Let me know if there is ANYTHING I can do to make things easier on you. Tuesdays are usually our Art day with Mrs. Cherry. She has given me some ideas for Art and Music that I am sharing here for you. All of the activities should be approved by parents before beginning!
