April 22nd
Hello! I'm so happy to be able to see you today! We will be having a "Harry Potter Read aloud" Zoom meeting today at 11:15-11:30am and 6:30-6:45pm. I will send the links on Dojo...can't wait to see you! If you haven't already, make sure to listen to the first half (Part 1) of Chapter 6, that way you know where we are in the story! You can find it on our CHALLENGE page, or follow the link above.
Today's question... How many of you are planning on participating in the Talent Show? If you don't have a talent you feel like you could share now, what is a talent you want to develop? I will be sharing some things for the talent show, but I don't know if Teachers will be in the final video. If we are not, I will post my videos here on May 21st! Can you guess what my talents are? For Math today, please complete the GoMath lesson 11.7:Equal Parts on pages 534-536. Don't worry about page 533, you don't have the blocks you need for the activity, you can just skip it. I do NOT need pictures of your work. On Wednesdays we usually have Computers with Mrs. Thueson. Please visit the Computers class website for the activities she has planned for 2nd grade this week. She has included alternate activities in case the assignment is too difficult or has requirements you can't meet easily. Scroll to the bottom of the Computer class page to see those alternate assignments. https://sites.google.com/a/alpinedistrict.org/cedarvalleycomputers/home/grade-2 We also usually have PE with Mrs. Shanks. Mrs. Cherry has given me some ideas for PE that I am sharing here for you. Also, don't forget about GoNoodle...they get you moving too! There's a link below! All of the activities should be approved by parents before beginning!
For writing, look at the planning page for this week's writing assignment. You need to have read the Wonders stories from this week to gather the ideas you need to tell about 2 ways to be a good team member. Use examples from the stories, or give examples from your experiences. Once you've decided, make your plan, follow the format, use your best handwriting, and turn in your final draft to me by taking a picture and sending it by email or Dojo message, or typing it in Wonders. U6W3 is due May 3rd.
Today's Assignments:
1. Work toward Lexia goal (This is a priority! It is geared toward your specific needs!) 2. Work on Green iReady lessons (This is a priority! It is geared toward your specific needs!) 3. Answer the question of the day (This is a priority! It is really important to stay emotionally and socially connected with everyone.) 4. Have FUN!!! (This is a priority! Students need to feel safe and loved during this time of crisis and instability.) 5. Do GoMath lesson 11.7: Equal Parts on pages 534-536, or work on iReady blue lessons if you already finished your GoMath lessons for this week. I do NOT need pictures of your work. 6. Read for 20 minutes-Wonders, Epic or Sora, etc. (This is important for making sure students are as ready as they can be for 3rd grade.) 7. Do Writing Skills Workbook, Unit 6.3 day 3. Work on your plan for your final draft of writing. 8. Do 1 spelling game and 1 high frequency word (HFW) game on Spelling City. (These are less important, but help build the phonics skills students need to be fluent readers.) 9. Do Morning Workbook page 156. Number of the day is 156! (This is less important, but offers a good review to keep everything we've learned this year fresh.) 10. Do the Computers assignment from Mrs. Thueson (this is less important, but helps keep a sense of normalcy with our specialty schedule, and gives a break form the monotony of some of the other assignments.) |
