MAY 8th
HAPPY FRIDAY! This will be the last full day of instruction for you! Next week we will still have some assignments, but not the full load you've been working with so far.
Today's question... What chores do you do at home? Which ones are your favorite, and which ones do you hate? Do you get paid for doing your chores? I always had to do the bathroom and dishes growing up, so those are still my least favorite. I also had a hard time keeping my room clean, it was always too small to keep things neatly organized. My favorites are folding laundry (if it's warm) and organizing my pantry. I have never been paid to do chores...EVER!!! I also have never paid my own children for doing their chores. They are expected to do their part to keep our house nice, and I pay them by providing the things they need (and sometimes the things they want) On Fridays we have Science. Finish your science project for learning fair, or if you're done, check out this video about how rainbows are made. https://mysteryscience.com/mini-lessons/rainbows#slide-id-8205 Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you. Have a great weekend! Love, Mrs. Cobabe Today's Assignments:
1. Work toward Lexia goal (This is a priority! It is geared toward your specific needs!) 2. Work on Green iReady lessons (This is a priority! It is geared toward your specific needs!) 3. Answer the question of the day (This is a priority! It is really important to stay emotionally and socially connected with everyone.) 4. Have FUN!!! (This is a priority! Students need to feel safe and loved during this time of crisis and instability.) 5. iReady diagnostic test(This is important for making sure students are as ready as they can be for 3rd grade, and for getting data for the teacher next year.) 6. Read for 20 minutes-Wonders, Epic or Sora, etc. (This is important for making sure students are as ready as they can be for 3rd grade.) 7. Do Writing Skills Workbook, Unit 6.4 day 5 and turn in weekly writing assignment by Monday. (This is important for making sure students are as ready as they can be for 3rd grade.) 8. Do 1 spelling game and 1 high frequency word (HFW) game on Spelling City. (These are less important, but help build the phonics skills students need to be fluent readers.) 9. Do Morning Workbook page 165. Number of the day is 165! (This is less important, but offers a good review to keep everything we've learned this year fresh.) 10. Finish the learning fair project or watch the Mystery Science Video (This is less important, but keeps student's scientific minds curious and thinking about the world in new ways) 11. Submit learning fair pictures and talent show videos! If you are having trouble accessing the Heggerty video from Wonders, you can view it here, then go back to Wonders and click SUBMIT. |
