April 17th
I found another fun Digital Breakout Game. This one is Library themed. If you need something fun to do together, try it out! It's not timed, so you can solve at your own pace.
https://platform.breakoutedu.com/game/play/library-lockout-127522-1BDDYHU5ER Today's question... If you could choose to have super powers, which one would you want? What would be your superhero name? I have told my students many times that I cannot read their thoughts, their brain is not my brain, they have to actually tell me what they are thinking...So, naturally, I would LOVE to be able to read minds! I wouldn't want to be constantly bombarded by peoples thoughts though, I would just want to be able to choose to read someone's thoughts whenever I wanted! I think I would like to me called Mrs. MindWarp...that's how my brain feels most of the time 🤣 but I think it still sounds cool enough and not too creepy 😂 Or, maybe just "The Reader"...a little more mysterious, and I DO love to READ!!! 🤷🏻♀️I can't wait to hear what you all come up with on this one 😃 Please check in with me if you are struggling with anything! I still have quite a few students who haven't turned in their Math tests yet. These tests and the Mid-Chapter Check are my only way to grade this Graphing content. We never covered it in school, and yet I have to assign a grade for it. If I don't get enough information on the student's level of mastery, I have to give a 1 or a Needs Improvement. Please help me out! Also, for math today, students need to Show What They Know already about Shapes and Fractions. Please take pictures of pages 506 and 507 once they are completed and send them to me. Thanks! Mrs. Bellitti is also wanting to gather ideas on how to make the rest of the school year a bit more fun, so please let me know if you have any ideas other than the ones below: 1. Digital Breakout links (maybe on a tab on this website?) 2. Silly face competition (submit a photo, class votes) 3. Daily times to check in with me, some days morning, others evening (maybe specific days to talk about math, writing, etc. too) 4. Virtual Dance Festival-everyone learns a dance (probably from GoNoodle) and records themselves doing it, or at least a part of it. 5. Virtual Learning Fair-videos and photos of our science experiments 6. Read-aloud videos once a week, live 7. One-on-one video conferences to address your specific needs 8. Read aloud times with aides On Fridays we have Social Studies and Science. Today I'd like you to check out Joe's most recent posts on his Blog. He has great stories that help us continue to learn and progress with our positive character traits while dealing with new and challenging circumstances. https://mrjoeswitt.blogspot.com Also, I have a Mystery Science video about eyes and tears. I don't know if you got sad or cried at all when they announced that school would be online for the rest of the year (I DID!😭😔I MISS YOU ALL!!!) But I thought this video was cool to ask why we cry when we are sad. Do you have any ideas? Check it out! https://mysteryscience.com/mini-lessons/tears Have a great weekend! Love, Mrs. Cobabe |
